Siamese cats

Siamese or Oriental cats have the most stereotypes and myths. Some people are convinced that these cats are angry, revengeful. Some people confuse these cats with Thai, which are oftenly wrongfully named as Siamese cats, although this is not their exact name. There are more than 15 varieties of cats with dark mask. In general, a cat from a good cattery will never be angry because they are socialized. When we breed cats, we is pay attention to their genetics and character inheritance, so aggressive, malicious cats are not being bred. Many people imagine that Siamese cats' tails are broken, they are angry but these are the consequences of improper breeding. Siamese cats's character us the same as Oriental cats'. They are very close friends, walk around like puppys, are quite loud. These cats are one of the more active breeds - they like to catch birds, flies, play with toys, suitable for families with children. Siamese cats are one of the most intelligent breeds, so it is easy to educate them, like a dogs.

Oriental cats

Oriental is a very old breed. Actually, first Orientals were bred from Siamese cats, when Siamese cats were mating with Bengals, Russian blues, Abyssinians and other cats. That is why the colors and the varietys of patterns of Oriental cats vary very much now. Oriental and Siamese cats are the same breed. Both Oriental and Siamese kittens can be born from the same litter. These are very elegant, tall, slim and graceful cats with muscular and strong bodies. The most noticable feature of these cats is their length - long tail, long legs, long cylindrical body, head and stunningly large ears. The eyes are almond-shaped and their desired eye color is green. The coat is sleek, glistening and depending on its length, orientals are divided into short-haired and long-haired groups. All Oriental cats are very loud, communicative, smart, active, and easy to train. It's like puppies because they like to play and can be treated. These cats require attention, don't like loneliness, perfectly agree with other cats and even dogs.

Peterbald cats

Peterbald cats are the same oriental/siamese shorthair cats but often they are the baldest. These cats have 5 different types of fur - gum, peach, velor, brash, and straight hair. This is a young breed, first made in 1994 by introducing a dominant bald mutation to the genotype of oriental cats. From other sphynxs, the Peterbald differ by its gracefulness and elegance, longer and thinner bodies. The ears are large, the long head has a strong chin. Peterbalds are peaceful, intelligent, agile, energetic and very communicate. It is a kitten, a puppy, a monkey, and a baby in one small body. These cats are loyal to the hosts as much as dogs. They do not fit in the description: "A cat walking for herself". So if you want to have an exceptional pet and you can privide it enough attention, you can choose this new but a fast-growing breed.

Why "BaldEra"?

The first peterbald kitten Era has come to us in 2007. She was the first in cattery "BaldEra". Her name is era and she is bald so our cattery name became "BaldEra". The main goal of the cattery is healthy, strong and standard cats. We actively participate in cat shows not only because of the achievements we receive but we also introduce the Oriental cats to unaware people, communicate a lot with them and help solve cat breeding and growing problems. Currently our cattery is one of the bigest and strongest in the the Baltics region. We own a several World Champions and Premiors; most of them were born in the BaldEra cattery. BaldEra bred animals are successful and recognized in WCF, FIFE and TICA organizations.
